The aim of the School Council is to speak for every pupil at Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen.  In addition to making positive suggestions about how to improve the life of pupils at the school, the School Council alerts staff to possible problems that pupils may be experiencing and puts forward alternative solutions.

Each form group has two Form Representatives who take the concerns of form members forward to the College Council.  Two College Representatives help to run the fortnightly College Council meetings and take ideas and concerns forward to the School Council, which is led by the Head Boy and Head Girl.

The School Council meets on a fortnightly basis and liaises directly with staff.   All the positions are elected democratically, and in total there are 134 pupils directly involved in these groups.  We strive to ensure that every pupil has a voice and it heard loudly and clearly.
